Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival (MCHRFF) offers highly competitive internships over the course of the year. Interns gain connections and real-world experience working alongside the staff of the Southeast’s only Human Rights film festival. We are seeking two interns for the fall 2023 semester. Interns will gain knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Human Rights & Social Justice Issues
- Film Festival coordination
- Marketing & Communications
INTERNSHIP POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
Please note that MCHRFF festival internships are unpaid. They are designed to expand interns’ professional knowledge and experience. While MCHRFF does not require interns to obtain school credit for their time with us, we do encourage them to take full advantage of any credit that may be available. Internships are in-person and individuals must work 15 hours per week. The MCHRFF office is located on the first floor of John Wheeler Hall on the Morehouse College campus.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be self-motivated and open to learning and sharing new ideas.
- Must be flexible and self-driven personality with a keen sense of delivering completed projects in a timely manner.
- An ability to consistently demonstrate our values of insight, hard work, and effectiveness in your personal approach to work.
- Support marketing team during live and online events.
- Must attend in-person festival scheduled for Monday, September 18 – Saturday, September 23, 2023.
The Social Media Intern is responsible for developing and implementing a social media plan for the 2023 Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival. The Social Media Intern focuses specifically on social media campaigns and brand awareness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create engaging social media content for MCHRFF.
- Execute the film festival’s social media strategy and assist in managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube).
- Work alongside digital marketing intern to organize the 2023 Social Press Kit.
- Prepare weekly updates and reports to track growth and success rates of campaigns.
- Create editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging.
- Keep up to date and informed on new social media trends and adapt accordingly.
- Ensure proper messaging is being executed online.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience in social media marketing.
- Impeccable oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with using major social media platforms: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
- Knowledge of social media analytics software to track audience engagement and campaign performance.
- Experience with Canva and Photoshop. Experience with CapCut and Premiere Pro editing software a plus.
The Digital Marketing Intern is responsible for developing and implementing the communications and marketing plan for the 2023 Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival. The Digital Marketing Intern focuses specifically on digital communications and brand awareness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure proper messaging is being executed online.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all digital channels.
- Create monthly e-newsletters to subscribers.
- Work alongside social media intern to organize 2023 Social Press Kit.
- Prepare weekly updates and reports to track growth and success rates of campaigns.
- Create editorial calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging.
- Review website and identify and outline necessary updates.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience in digital marketing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience using WordPress and MailChimp.
- Compile analytics to track audience engagement and campaign performance.
- Experience with Canva and Photoshop. Experience with CapCut and Premiere Pro editing software a plus.
